Presentation PowerPoint Recommendation
The audio visual company at Crown Convention Centre recommends presenters utilise the 16:9 aspect ratio of PowerPoint for oral presentations. Below is a downloadable 16:9 PowerPoint template and some handy tips and tricks for designing your widescreen presentation.
If you are an international delegate, please remember to bring any required adaptors. Any presenters using Macs MUST bring their VGA dongles and Mac adaptors.

The theme of this year’s meeting "Quality burn care: The Art and the Science" has led to the development of an innovative program that explores many of the contemporary challenges and advances in burn care. We increasingly recognize the importance of the structures and systems within which we practice in influencing how we practice - what we do - and the outcomes of our treatments; and the Conference programme features keynote speakers who will showcase the best of thinking and practice in burn care, quality improvement and registry science. High quality burn care is quintessentially a team endeavour, and this conference will include the broad range of multidisciplinary sessions which the ANZBA membership has come to appreciate at our previous meetings. The scientific program will be complemented by high quality poster presentations and a trade exhibition promoting the latest in burns pharmaceuticals, medical, diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and developments.

The theme for the 2015 ANZBA ASM is Quality burn care: The art and the science. Abstracts are encouraged within this theme area.
We invite you to submit abstracts in the formats below. While you will be asked to indicate your preferred presentation format, the Program Committee may accept the abstract in the alternative format. The Program Committee will allocate accepted abstracts to the program taking into account the quality of each abstract, the balance of the program and the relevance to the overall conference theme.
It is anticipated that oral presentations will be allocated 8 minutes plus 2 minutes for questions.
To reduce the impact on the environment and cost to presenters, electronic posters will be displayed in the Promenade Foyer of the Crown Convention Centre on large flat screens on a 1 minute rotation. Delegates will be able to pause ePosters and skip to others using the index page. ePosters will be displayed for the duration of the meeting.
Posters will be a single PowerPoint slide and can include video and audio. We can also include a PDF version of your poster in the ASM App. Information regarding access of this app will be provided as the ASM draws closer.
Please note that the best poster in each of the prize streams will be presented orally (5 minutes each) in the Program on Friday.
1. Prepare your abstract
Prepare your abstract on the relevant Word template above.
- The presentation abstract of 250 words should cover Introduction, Method, Results, Discussion and Conclusion. Please note if you only wish to be considered for a static poster, the abstract need not be structured in this format.
2. Enter your contact details
Go to the ANZBA ASM Presentation Portal (above) to enter your contact details.
3. Enter your abstract details
Enter the details for each abstract you are submitting and upload the associated Word document.
For each abstract you submit you will be asked to enter the following information:
- Presentation title
- Preferred presentation format
- Prize stream
- Name/s of author/s
- Affiliation/s of author/s
- Indicate the presenter
- Short biography of the presenter
Video and audio clips should be embedded in your Power Point slides rather than linking to external files.
Presenters will take their Power Point slides to the conference on a memory stick, where an audiovisual technician will load your presentation.
All slides will be run from a central presentation computer. However, if you have a complex presentation, which includes multiple media files, we suggest you bring your own laptop as a backup in case of difficulties loading your presentation.
All presenters will be required to register for the conference and pay the appropriate registration fee. Presenters also need to meet their own travel and accommodation costs.
Each lecture room will be equipped for the presentation of Power Point slides and include a data projector, computer (with external speakers), lectern and microphone. Other audiovisual aids, such as Overhead Projectors, are not available
